You wouldn’t be wrong if you called us treasure hunters here at Near Birmingham, but as true as it is that we have people at our office that would make great Indiana Jones cosplay material, that’s not the kind of treasure hunting we deal in. While we specialize in helping small and local businesses grow their brand, reach more people, and improve their online fingerprint, we also love to find those hidden gems in the Magic City.
While we specialize in helping small and local businesses grow their brand, reach more people, and improve their online fingerprint, we also love to find those hidden gems in the Magic City. These treasures take many forms whether that be the mom and pop butcher shop that we can’t get enough of, the after-school program that is determined to engage our young people, or that restaurant that you may or may not have known was owned and operated by someone who was a chef to celebrities. One of these treasures that is near and dear to our hearts is Gardendale Flea Mall & Antique Center.
Located just off I-65 on Hwy 31 in Gardendale, it has become a popular destination for people in search of well just about anything. Because they have anything from refrigerators and mattresses to custom made t-shirts, and antique items, GFM prides itself on its unique selection. One of the aspects of GFM that we love most is the owner, Steve Taylor’s dedication to both his business and his customers. Steve loves to be involved in the community so he is always hosting events in store or digitally with livestreams. Therefore, Steve is always looking for a great way to reach out to the community.
This is not your average flea mall, no GFM is one of the largest “treasure chests” in Alabama with over 300 dealers bringing 1000’s of items of unique merchandise throughout its two levels. But when you add on the fact that it has some of the best staff of any place in the Birmingham area, it’s not hard to see why this local business which is full of its own treasures, is also one of Birmingham’s treasures (that’s right “treasure-ception”). Join us in our love for treasure hunting by visiting Gardendale Flea Mall & Antique Center and let us know what you think of it. They are open seven days a week from 10 am – 6 pm. So trust us, you won't be disappointed.
