360 Video Production

What is a 360-Degree Video?

A 360-degree video, which is also known as immersive or spherical videos, is a video recording where a view in every direction is recorded at the same time, capturing 360-degrees of video. A 360-degree video can be shot using an omnidirectional camera or a collection of cameras. The viewer has control of the viewing direction during playback on normal screen.

How Does It Work?

In the past, 360-degree videos were typically recorded using a special rig of multiple cameras, but now technology has advanced to the point of having a dedicated camera that contains multiple camera lenses embedded into the device, and filming overlapping angles simultaneously.

The separate footage is combined into one spherical video, known as video stitching, with the color and contrast of each shot calibrated to be consistent with the others.

This process is done either by the camera or using specialized software that can analyze common visuals and audio to synchronize and link the different camera feeds together to make an amazing creation for anyone that is looking for a 360 video.
